Erongo RED, NAMITVEST talk generational wealth

In a landmark move aimed at driving financial empowerment and inclusive growth, Erongo RED has formalised its Payroll Deduction Agreement with NAMITVEST, opening the door for employees to directly invest in Just Transition Investment (JTT) Namibia Limited.
The signing ceremony, held at Erongo RED’s Head Office on 25 September 2025, drew company leadership, staff, and union representatives, marking a significant step in employee–employer collaboration.
The initiative allows Erongo RED employees including members and former members of the Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN) and their dependents to invest in JTT through automatic salary deductions. This structured approach offers employees a seamless pathway to build personal wealth, accumulate assets, and benefit from long-term investment growth.
Speaking at the ceremony, NAMITVEST Principal Officer, Mr. Jason Kasuto, described the programme as a tool for financial empowerment. “This payroll initiative ensures financial security through asset accumulation and investment returns,” he said.
On behalf of Erongo RED CEO, Mr. Immanuel !Hanabeb, Executive Manager for Supply, Mr. Claude Tjizo, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to employee well-being. “As an employer, our responsibility goes beyond providing reliable electricity to our communities. We are equally committed to supporting initiatives that enhance the socio-economic well-being of our workforce,” he said.
“The establishment of this payroll deduction facility ensures that employees can participate in an investment initiative that promotes financial growth and long-term stability.”
The Mineworkers Union of Namibia also welcomed the partnership. Mr. George Ampweya, General Secretary of MUN, speaking on behalf of MUN President Poco-Key Mberiuana, underscored the initiative’s importance.
“This agreement strengthens the relationship between employees and their employer while supporting members’ financial aspirations. This partnership is about shaping a future where our members can thrive both professionally and personally,” he noted.
Through the arrangement, employees who become shareholders will receive dividends distributed transparently, reinforcing a culture of accountability and shared success.
By simplifying access to investment, the programme encourages long-term financial planning and promotes generational wealth creation.
