Starting 20 September 2025, diners at all Block House steak restaurants in Germany will be able to enjoy premium Namibian rumpsteak, marking a major milestone for Namibia’s beef industry. Renowned for being free-range, grass-fed, and sustainably produced across Namibia’s vast farmlands, Namibian beef is the only African beef approved for export to both the United States and Europe. Its arrival in Germany underscores a growing international reputation for quality and sustainability.

The deal was secured with Eugen Block Holding GmbH, one of Germany’s leading owner-managed hospitality groups, which operates 42 Block House locations and several Jim Block burger outlets. After two and a half years of preparation, Namibian rumpsteak will now feature as a monthly special, bringing the taste of Namibia directly to German tables.

The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) helped facilitate the agreement, highlighting Namibia as a trusted producer of premium, high-quality food products. “Namibian beef is not just delicious—it represents free-range farming, sustainable practices, and high animal welfare standards,” said Valentin Külbs, Managing Director of South Trade GmbH.
“Bringing rumpsteak to Germany’s Block House restaurants is a proud achievement for all involved.”

Block House CEO Markus Gutendorff added: “We want to offer our guests something truly special. Namibian rumpsteak delivers both exceptional quality and an inspiring story of origin—perfect for our brand and our customers.” From 20 September, steak lovers across Germany can enjoy Namibian rumpsteak, a true farm-to-table experience that celebrates Namibia’s rich agricultural heritage and premium beef legacy.
