In a decisive step toward strengthening public safety and national administration, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (MHAISS) this week unveiled its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan which marked a bold and far-reaching blueprint aimed at safeguarding the dignity, rights, and security of all Namibians.

Nghipandua’s spy gig behind doors

Retired Navy officer Bamba Sinsy Nghipandua is said to have been quietly appointed as the new director general of the Namibian Central Intelligence Service (NCIS) this week.
The low-profile appointment follows recents speculation reported in July that Nghipandua was being considered to take over the top post at the country’s intelligence institution. 

Phiri shares Debmarine debut

KK Palace FC head coach Anderson Phiri, who hails from Zambia, says leading the club in the Debmarine Premiership was his first time to coach in a league that plays double headers. 
Phiri joined KK Palace FC last season and managed to help the club finish above top teams such as Blue Waters, and Tigers in the table.
 

Simon opens to fight for money

THE country’s first world boxing champion, Harry ‘Terminator’ Simon (50) says he is open to a professional bout if there is good money on the table and against a well-known fighter. His last fight in a professional bout was in 2018 against Kaminja Ramadhan of Tanzania.
 

For now, Simon only fights in exhibition fights, having fought against Vikapita Beastmaster Meroro and  Paulus “Ninja” Shimweefeleni.
