Namibia’s trade balance took a turn for the worse in March 2025, standing at a deficit of N$2.7 billion, when compared to the N$2.0 billion recorded the previous month. The scenario, however, presents a significant improvement when compared to the same month last year, which recorded a trade deficit of N$4.6 billion. The trade balance refers to the difference in value between a country’s imports and exports.
A recent sighting of crocodile in the Okatyali constituency of Oshana region has triggered a wave of panic among the inhabitants.
This comes hot on the heels of the disappearance of a cattle herder in the area, which has sparked speculation among community members that the reptile might have something to do it.
THE Namibian Police is warning members of the public in the Ohangwena, Omusati and Kunene regions to be cautious of roaming elephants that are causing havoc in some constituencies in those regions. According to police Senior Inspector Anna Kunga of Omusati region, elephants were recently seen feeding in mahangu fields at Onyalala and Ontanda villages in that region.
As a result, Kunga warned farmers and members of the public not to disturb the elephants.

Over the past four years, Namibia has attracted over N$114.9 billion in net Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows, including N$56 billion into sectors beyond oil and gas. OKAHAO mayor Cornelia Iiyambula has called upon all businesses and private individuals who made pledges during the Ehao Expo gala dinner a fortnight ago, to honour their end of the bargain. The mayor indicated that the event held recently, raised a total of N$ 550 000 in pledges before pleading with those who made promises to pay up by end of May 2025.
The Walvis Bay State Hospital is currently operating without a functioning ambulance, which residents say, could be the only determining factor on whether a patient lives or dies during critical and life-threating emergencies. Patients and their families are now forced to make their own transport arrangements or rent a private ambulance, which are often costly.
THE City of Windhoek is yet to release findings into at least four forensic audits and investigations in allegations of fraud, corruption, collusion, financial sabotage, favouritism, nepotism and unlawful suspensions among others. Republican Party president Henk Mudge has described the recent decision by United States (US) President Donald Trump to grant refugee status to South African Afrikaners as a possible “warning shot” to the South African government to reform its governance and promote inclusivity.
