The Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises says the government has been spending a total of N$120 million annually to pay private contractors for the management and distribution of social grants across the country. 
However, with the recent announcement to cutout middlemen, such as the current contractor, Epupa Investment Technology and the handover the operations to NamPost, government is expected to save up to N$54 million annually in this transition. NamPost will officially assume responsibility starting 1 October 2025.

Newly-appointed presidential press secretary Jonas Mbambo says not even in his wildest dreams did he imagine holding the highest communication office in the land, yet, as of August 1, he will serve as the official spokesperson for Namibia’s head of State.

The Swapo Party’s attempt to rectify the ongoing bungling up of the renewal of mandate process of all structures in Epukiro district and the nominations for the aspiring regional councillor candidates for the area, hit a snag on Monday. 
This is after Cornelia Shilunga, the party leader assigned to the region aborted a meeting that meant to mediate between two disputing factions, citing safety reasons.

The Minister of International Relations and Trade, Ambassador Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, confirmed that six Namibian nationals were recently repatriated from Myanmar and Laos with the assistance of the United Nations (UN) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The  four women and two men were repatriated as part of efforts to combat trafficking in persons.
