Northern youth put smiles on mothers

A group of young people in the Uupopo area in Ondangwa gathered recently to donate nappies and purities to needy mothers at the town, through the Da Silva Northern Feed a Child Soup Kitchen.
The initiative was supported by AGRA Ondangwa and according the south kitchen founder, Jackson Peuyelenga Mwetufena the project was aimed putting smiles and instilling hope, courage within the community.
“Let us inspire more corporate partners to join us in this noble cause and support the Da Silva Northern Charity's. Together, we can make a lasting impact and nourish the future of our children” said Mwetufena.
The soup kitchen is targeting feeding nutritious meals to orphans, vulnerable and street children in the Omahenene, Uupopo, Ondiyala and Omakulukuma communities.
According to Mwetufena, the soup kitchen was estebalished to compliment government and more specifically the efforts of our local government with poverty eradication measures and ending hunger in the disadvantaged communities, by restoring their human dignity. “Our other objective is to systematically address the potential long-term impacts of unemployment, poverty, hunger and malnutrition, by focusing on early childhood and teenage development,” he added.
