OKAHAO mayor Cornelia Iiyambula has called upon all businesses and private individuals who made pledges during the Ehao Expo gala dinner a fortnight ago, to honour their end of the bargain.  The mayor indicated that the event held recently, raised a total of N$ 550 000 in pledges before pleading with those who made promises to pay up by end of May 2025.

“That is quite a significant amount and it will assist us to make all the necessary arrangements. I therefore call upon all our stakeholders who made pledges to honour them as the Ehao Expo is slated for June 20 – 28 2025,” stressed Iiyambula.  The mayor indicated that, although it has become a norm for individuals and businesses to make pledges during gala dinners and only to fail to honour their pledges, she was hopeful and resolute that all that all the pledges would come forth.

Iiyambula maintains that part of the funds will pay service providers, artists and to organize the Miss Ehao beauty pageant. “We need people to come and bring their cultural and agricultural goods. People need to see those things. I also want government ministries and agencies to attend and be represented so that services are brought closer to the people during that time,” she relayed. This will be the fourth edition of the Expo and it will be held under the theme “Unlocking Cultural Tourism and Business Potential”, and Ongandjera King Johannes Mupongolitha Mupiya is the Patron of the Expo.
