South African women in chat with Tyla on ‘Is It’

Tyla, South African Musician

The South African women’s rugby team has given Tyla’s hit song a nod, and fans are impressed.
The team recently created a TikTok Reel of their arrival at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, which featured the singer’s hit song “Is It” as they entered the stadium for their second test match against Canada.

The reel showed the women’s team stepping off the bus and walking into the venue, setting the tone for an energetic and motivational performance they were about to put up.

The team’s choice of song snippet was particularly fitting as they started the track off with the lyrics “Is it the girls that I came with?”
The lyrics seemed tailor-made for that moment, adding an extra layer of meaning given that the Springbok Women are an all-female team and the girls were walking into the venue.

This move shows just how much appeal Tyla has and how diverse her supporters are, not just in South Africa but globally. Her music has transcended genres, resonating with diverse audiences, now including sports fans.TikTok user @exoticexhaust1 commented: “Yebo springboks supporting South African music ”. “Is It” has been making impressive waves since its release on July 11, topping charts and breaking records. The song’s success is proving to surpass her previous hit single “Water”.

The song’s popularity on TikTok was evident even before its official release, as snippets of the track were widely used on the platform.
