NUST shake-up hits 80 foreign lecturers

A restructuring exercise at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), has hit foreign staff hard, with at least 80, predominantly lecturers, having already received letters thanking them for their service, Confidente has learnt.

Confidente has also been reliably informed that, despite the university acknowledging that these foreign lecturers whose contracts expire this year, can re-apply, they have already been asked to make repatriation arrangements with the university’s human resources department while at the same time they process their departing benefits.

NUST has since advertised over 60 vacancies in the local press.
