10-year-old vendor striving for a better future

WHILE many children spend their weekends and holidays from school playing with their peers, 10-year-old Agnes Ashipala has been spending her time selling spices at the Black Chain shopping complex in Katutura, alongside her father.

Sitting neatly with her legs crossed on the floor next to a pole, holding six sachets of ‘kapana spice’, Agnes approaches almost every person that comes her way with a bright smile advertising her business.
