320 bullets disappear from MEFT

THE Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism reported 320 ammunition missing from

its directorate of wildlife and national parks department in Keetmanshoop last year September, Confidente can exclusively reveal.

Spokesperson of the ministry Romeo Muyunda confirmed the incident.

“We can confirm the ammunition is missing. The ammunition was kept in a safe and we understand the safe keys are kept by individual staff members so, it is unclear at this point how the ammunition went missing. A case has been opened and we understand the case is with the police,” he said.

A case of theft has been opened with the Keetmanshoop police station. The 320 bullets are used in a G-3 assault rifle.
