Jan Mohr wins George Low Tournament

JAN Mohr Secondary School are the 2022 Annual George Low School Soccer Tournament winners after edging Pioneer Boys School at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on September18.

Jan Mohr won 4-3 on penalties to take home the floating trophy that comes with 20 gold medals and prize money worth N 500.

Boys Pionier School came in second placed was awarded 20 silver medals plus N$4000 and third placed school Dawid Bezuidenhout Secondary who defeated Cosmos Secondary School in the third/fourth place off match received 20 bronze medals and prize monies amounting to N$3000.

The tournament only involves boys’ football.

On Monday, Jan Mohr Secondary School officially handed the medals to the players at the school’s premises in-front of the players’ fellow learners and the entire management of the school.

“The aim of the tournament is not only to positively impact the development of learners by providing soccer as a life-enriching opportunity to young players but also to create a lifelong passion for the sport of soccer. Most importantly, the tournament aims to revive soccer in schools.

Moreover, the tournament will set the standard for all school soccer teams by creating a culture that provides a foundation for all to reach their fullest potential on and off the field while having the ultimate soccer experience,” said Erastus Taapopi the organizer of the tournament.
