A convicted prisoner’s cautionary tale

ERWIN Katjingisiua sits inside a dark room with tinted glasses wearing his orange uniform at the Windhoek correctional facility prison. It has been 10 years since he has been in prison for his crime of murder and robbery that he committed way back in 2009.

But upon sentencing in 2018, Katjingisiua accepted all sins and gave his life to Christ and he has been serving his sentence for three years.

Katjingisiua’s story is of criminality and violence, and now regret and loss. This is a man who murdered and robbed for a living.

In an exclusive interview with Confidente, Katjingisiua was happy to share his story stating that he had made peace with his past and knows that God has forgiven him.

“l was sentenced in 2018 but from 2009 l was on trial awaiting judgement because l did not want to accept my wrongdoings. I was given 18 years to serve for my crime which l only started in 2018.
