A.I Steenkamp, Gammas, Katjimune win big in Build It extravaganza

A.I Steenkamp (football) and Gammas Primary School (netball) won the 2023 Build It Under-13 football and netball tournament.
Hosted by Built It, the tournament was held at A.I Steenkamp Primary School in Windhoek.

The host defeated Auas Primary School 2-0 in the football final, while Gammas Primary School narrowly defeated Bethold Himumuine Primary School 8-7 in the netball final, which was hotly contested and could have gone either way, with Bethold leading the first half 5-3 before Gammas turned the tables in the second half, thanks to sharp-shooter, Ngumbiro Kautjituavi, who was unstoppable.
Bethold supporters and coaches celebrated after the final whistle blew, assuming they had won the contest, but their celebrations were cut short after scorekeepers revealed the actual scoreline.
Despite losing in netball, Bethold won the greatest award, a N 000 Build It voucher for the best-supported team, while Gammas received a floating trophy, medals, and goodie bags for players and coaching staff.
