AR challenges Mbumba to act on corrupt government officials

By Allexer Namundjembo

Affirmative Repositioning Movement (AR) spokesperson George Kambala has urged President Nangolo Mbumba to take action against dishonest government officials using the constitutional authority granted to him to fight corruption.

Speaking at a press conference in Windhoek last week, Kambala pleaded with President Mbumba to take action against dishonest public servants who are thriving on corrupt activities.

According to Kambala, the AR Movement cannot ignore the corruption that has spread across the country and failed to address the land issue.

“We cannot ignore the corruption that has spread throughout the country and not address the land issue,” he said.

Kambala pointed out that the Namibia Financial Institution Supervisory report from 2022 indicated that about 229,000 home borrowers in Namibia owed a whopping N$7.1 billion to micro lenders, also referred to as cash loan providers.
