Artist bemoans lack of industry support

UNLESS Namibian musicians and all industry stakeholders come together and start supporting one another, the Namibian music industry will continue lagging behind in juxtaposition with other industries in the region.

This is according to Ondangwa-based musician Erastus Halweendo, well known in the music circles as Mr Yola.

Halweendo spoke to Confidente this week when asked his views on the state of affairs of the country’s music fraternity.

“What I have realised for the 17 years of being in the industry is that there is no support among artists. There is no unity. Also, those that work with artists do not offer the necessary support,” he said.
