Attie Beukes’ life was a lesson in political activism

The leader of the Communist Party of Namibia and veteran of the country’s liberation struggle, Attie Beukes, died in a Windhoek hospital on May 17 after a long illness. He was 69.
His death was confirmed by the family via a post on his Facebook account.

“It is with great sadness that we as a Beukes family herewith inform all our family, friends and comrades the passing of Attie Beukes,” the Facebook post states.
