Augustinus set for ground-breaking All-African Games appearance

• BY Michael Uugwanga

TOP FIFA accredited female assistant referee Eveline Augustinus will be Namibia’s lone female match official at the rescheduled 2023 All-African Games, held in Accra, Ghana, from March 8 to 23, 2024.

Augustinus has established herself as one of the country’s and Africa’s leading assistant referees over the past few years and continues to move places; and is fresh from her duties in Nigeria, where she and other fellow compatriot officials, Ndemugwanitha Twanyanyukwa, Olivia Amukuu, and Victoria Shangula, officiated the second leg tie of the 2024 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Olympic qualifiers match between Nigeria and Cameroon on February 26 of which Twanyanyukwa was the centre referee.

Augustinus, who also officiates in the Debmarine Premiership, First Division, Second Division, and FNB Women Super League (WSL), will go for Ghana today (Friday), barely two days after returning from Nigeria on Wednesday (February 28).
