BBLNN calls on black business owners to ditch ‘racist’ banks

The Black Business Leadership Network of Namibia (BBLNN) has urged Namibian black business owners to migrate their accounts from banks which they perceive as practicing racial based discrimination.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Chairperson of the BBLNN, Elifas Simon and the President of the Network, Irene Simeon-Kurtz, launched a scathing attack on banks and other stakeholders within the financial sector who ‘discriminate’ against clients on the basis of race.

Simeon-Kurtz said the situation is dire and is further exacerbated by the impact of Covid-19, inflation and the slowing down of the economy.
