Swapo Party Vice-President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah recently highlighted the government’s deliberate strategy to diversify the economy.

Speaking at the Benguela Blue Aqua Farming project ceremony in Luderitz, Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasised the importance of addressing pressing economic challenges through innovative initiatives.

The Benguela Blue Aqua Farming project aims to revolutionise Namibia’s economic landscape by venturing into new sectors
and products, particularly as a producer and exporter of premium salmon products.

This project is projected to create significant employment opportunities, potentially generating 600 direct and 1500 indirect jobs,
thereby alleviating youth unemployment. In her address, Nandi-Ndaitwah called for Namibian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to be included in the project’s development.
