Black Society Namibia schedules night of inspiration

• By Martha Nangombe

BLACK Society Namibia founder, Shatiwa Kaliteke says they plan to hold a night of creativity to support the creative industry through platform creation on July 22 at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC).

The event will feature musicians, poets, models, artisans, and comedians in what is billed as a night to remember.

Black Society Namibia is a non-profit organisation dedicated to enriching and empowering the black community through performance, art, and culture, as well as providing a safe environment for the community by bridging the gap between unequal equity in the creative business.

In an interview with Confidente, Kaliteke stressed the necessity of developing a network where local artists can share skills and information with other creatives.

“The event aims to entertain and provide a platform for artists and crafters to showcase their talents, promote cultural diversity, and foster a sense of community. By attending this event, revellers will help build and recognise Namibia’s arts and crafts sector while empowering local artists and craftspeople.
