Businessman warns of fraudsters using his name

BUSINESSMAN Monty Ndjavera has warned members of the public not to fall victim to a scam where fraudsters are allegedly using his name and that of his company, Harambee Agri-Produce to advertise a bid in which they solicit private information.

It is still unclear what this information, including banking details, is being used for but documents seen by Confidente show that the alleged fraudsters are sending out bid invitations for quotations for supply of agricultural inputs.

“We as Harambee Agri-Produce are a public entity with the green scheme and the National Horticulture Development Initiative (NHDI), aimed at increasing local agricultural production. The Green Scheme encourages the development of irrigated agronomic production with a target of reaching approximately 27 000 hectares along perennial rivers bordering Namibia.
