By Rosalia David

LOOKING for a place to buy a quick and affordable lunch, Captain DoRego’s on Independence Avenue is the place to rush to during lunch hours and the perfect place to rescue you from mid-month financial crisis.

Captain DoRego’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner meals starting from as little as N$16 but less than N$200 and has the best customer service compared to most take away food shops.

On a busy Tuesday morning, the place was filled with a diversity of customers enjoying their breakfast meals that comes with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

One of the breakfast meals they served us consisted of fried eggs, bacon, toast and potato chips for N$35, while they also offer specials on lunch meals consisting of two pieces of chicken and chips, plus a free cooldrink for only N$40.

The breakfast we were served took about five minutes to arrive and the eggs, including the bacon was well fried and had a little bit of sweet taste that would make you want to order more. The toast was firm and crispy, and the bread crunchily fresh.

The owner of Captain DoRego’s, Patrick Babikanyisa said they sell the most affordable meals of the day with the highest price set at N$210. “All our meals prices fall under N$200, with N$50 you are able to get a satisfying full mealtime. You will not find something higher than that,” he said.

Captain DoRego’s has been in operation since 2013 and its target market ranges from the youth to the older generation. “We have been in business for seven years now and being close to some of the giant businesses that have been operating for longer than us, we would say that we are actually doing well. Not only do we have the location advantage, but have also built a consistent clientele,” he explained.

Although Captain DoRego’s also serves platters, hake, snoek and beef burgers, their chicken dishes is most popular and preferred by most customers.
