TUNACOR Fisheries Limited which recently offered employment to 180 fishermen who were retrenched by Namsov in 2015, will from next week employ the 655 that were released by Seaflower Pelagic Processing (SPP), Confidente can exclusively reveal.

Recently, Confidente reported that the temporary board of National Fishing Corporation of Namibia (Fishcor) had asked fisheries and marine resources minister, Albert Kawana to revoke up to 9 000 mt of horse mackerel quota that was given to SPP to protect jobs.

SPP is a partnership between the state-owned Fishcor and African Selection Fishing with Fishcor owning 40 percent and the latter, 60 percent.
