CHAOS AHEAD OF SWAPO WOMEN’S CONGRESS

…as aggrieved members threaten to block congress via courts

THE Swapo women’s league has been besieged by chaos with some of its members threatening to stop its elective congress slated for next week via a court interdict as allegations of favouritism and constitutional violations have arisen.

At the heart of the alleged misgivings is incumbent Swapo Party Women’s Council (SPWC) secretary, Eunice Iipinge who has been accused by some districts of deliberately blocking them from the congress.

Iipinge’s actions, sources close to matter have said, are targeted at creating a safe passage for favourite contestant of the league’s top position, former Windhoek mayor, Fransina Kahungu.
