Gideon Eiseb, popularly known as Chester House Prince’s hit track ‘Barcadi’ has received more than 600k views on YouTube two months after its release.

In an interview with Confidente Chester expressed happiness regarding  the support he has been receiving saying he did not expect the song to reach so much mileage.

“I was supposed to drop the song already last year but I was not feeling the vibe, there was just something holding me back and I held on to the beat until this year and only recorded the lyrics recently,” he said.

On how the idea of the song came about, Chester said after a long day on a Saturday morning; he played the beat in the car once again and started flowing to it.

“I was in contact with a few brothers from South Africa, we connected on instagram and he asked if we can do a collaboration as he wanted to do songs with Namibian artists last year. This year, I started freelancing to the beat after sitting on it for almost a year I recorded the lyrics on my phone and from there we went to studio,” he narrated further.

Barcadi was recorded at by Rizo from Uptown Boys studio, while the beat was produced by South African producer BeeKay and features artists such as DJ Spuzza and Mega.

Stunned by the feedback he got on the song Chester says looking back at how he doubted the song makes him realize that life is full of surprises.

“I am very happy, I had my doubts but we pushed, and while recording the song, the vibe was amazing, It really felt like the beginning when we started doing music, we had fun in studio and now the song is doing well with international acts reacting well to it on TikTok,” Chester said.

Questioned on when the music video is expected to drop, the highly passionate musician said the team is still on planning stage but promises to release firecracker visuals in due time.

Chester is currently an independent artist since 2019 ever since parting ways with RTE records music label.

Apart from plans to releases a music video and another single, Chester is also working towards releasing a full track album.

He said, “I am an Independent artist since 2019; it was not easy but it was definitely a learning curve.”

“I had to go through that to learn the value of the music business. One need to go through those things sometimes”.

Passionate about giving back to the community, Chester further urges fellow Namibians to donate winter clothes or blankets to the underprivileged.
