Corruption allegations surface in Red Cross recruitment

THE recruitment of a new secretary general (SG) of the Namibia Red Cross Society (NRCS) has stirred tension with some top officials within the society having accused their chairperson, Dr. Rosa Persendt of trying to influence the outcome by handpicking a recruitment agency of her choice.

A senior official who refused to be named told Confidente last week that, Persendt single-handedly appointed consultants called Vision Consulting without following the institution’s procurement procedures.
