Council official in assault drama
By Hertta-Maria Amutenja
AN assault case has been opened against Nkurenkuru town council technical manager Paulus Shihinga for allegedly assaulting a woman named Anita Kakukuru who was filming him while disconnecting her water pipe illegally this week.
According to Kakukuru, Shihinga entered her yard and decided to terminate the water supply without any verbal communication.
She said after a few minutes, she started taking a video of Shihinga which angered him.
“The technical manager of Nkurenkuru town council assaulted me because of taking a video of them disconnecting our water. As you can see in the video, on his arrival this man was walking from his car approaching me asking if I am taking a video and then he just started beating me to the ground pulling out all my hair.
We had no altercation of some sort, to say I offended him or something (sic),” said an aggrieved Kakukuru.
Kakukuru claims that Shihinga acted out of rage after he had an altercation with her husband the previous day over land used by her husband for sand mining.
She further went on to bash the Namibian police for failing her and trying to convince her into not opening a case.
