Councillors training essential for service delivery: Shaningwa

SWAPO Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa has emphasised the necessity of educating party local authority councillors to improve service delivery to the populace.

In a speech delivered on her behalf at the just-ended three-day Capacity Building Workshops by Swapo Deputy Secretary General Uahekua Hengura, Shaningwa said educating local authority councillors is a progressive initiative towards steering socioeconomic development and shared prosperity for citizens in the proper way.

She stated that the Swapo party, in partnership with the Education and Training Unit for Democracy and Development for South Africa (ETU) and with the help of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, presents party local authority councillors with a progressive agenda.
