BY VERONICA AMARAL

THE Rössing Foundation recently contributed substantially to developing vocational skills in Namibia by donating training equipment and materials worth N$ 50,000 to the Community Skills Development Centre (COSDEC) in Swakopmund.

The handover sought to strengthen COSDEC’s ability to provide individual up-skilling and reskilling to its trainees, addressing varied industry needs and possible self-employment prospects.

Vocational education and training are critical for providing individuals with the skills needed to succeed in today’s employment environment.  With rapid technological breakthroughs and shifting labour dynamics, trainees must obtain up-to-date training to remain competitive and adaptive.
