Criminal gang terrorises Oshikango

By Marx Itamalo

A group of hardened criminals is said to be operating in the border village of Oshikango, robbing both locals and tourists.

According to multiple sources, the gang operates near the town’s border post and frequently robs individuals at gunpoint.  Some reported robberies are said to have occurred in full view of police and border authorities.

The most recent incident occurred last week, involving an Angolan journalist who was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money and work equipment. According to a source, the group consists of well-known criminals, including a former border police officer.

“These individuals are robbing people of their property and money, particularly at the border, and they look to be untouchable. The police know them, but I don’t understand why they don’t arrest them,” the insider added.
