• By Michael Uugwanga
THE Namibian Deaf Sports Federation is seeking financial assistance to compete in the Zambian Deaf Federation’s football and netball events slated for October this year in Lusaka, Zambia.
Namibia last participated in an international deaf competition in the South African Deaf Game in South Africa, in the same codes of football and netball, with the country winning the football event. In contrast, netball could only take second place.
Speaking to Confidente about the country’s participation in the event this year, Abner Sheya, the president of the Namibian Deaf Sports Federation, said that currently, they do not have the funding to take part in the competition.
