Debmarine commits N$2.5m to Miss Namibia pageant

DEBMARINE Namibia Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Willy Mertens says the diamond company is dedicated to promoting a thriving community where women are empowered and nourished and stated that they will stand beside the Miss Namibia organisation.

Mertens made these sentiments when announcing Debmarine Namibia’s Debmarine N$2.5 million pilot project partnership with Miss Namibia, which he said demonstrated the diamond company’s commitment to standing with women and girls.

“When we say we stand with women and girls, it’s not just a slogan; we have concrete actions to deliver on this commitment to uplift and empower women, both within the business and through our corporate and social investment programmes. Women are seen as a symbol of power and strength. Similarly, Miss Namibia honours women’s grace, intelligence, and charisma, and by supporting Miss Namibia, we match ourselves with the qualities that diamonds and pageants symbolise, creating a natural synergy between our brand and the pageant,” Mertens said.

He said Miss Namibia provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight Namibia’s natural beauty and cultural diversity nationally and internationally.
