Discontent about relocation

SOME residents of the ‘illegal’ location near Onguta in Ondangwa town are unhappy about the manner in which the town council is relocation them. They claim council has not given them enough time to prepare for the relocation nor has it properly consulted them.

The location was established in 2000 when some residents grabbed land without council’s mandate and settled there.

Ondangwa town council has been pleading with the residents of the location to vacate the land but the calls fell on deaf ears with the residents erecting structures and the location has now grown.
