Distell dragged to court over N$530 000

LOCAL logistics companies, Vaughan R Transport, Nependa Transport and Nentele Transport have taken Distell Limited to court for alleged contract breach and are suing the latter for N$530 000.

According to court documents filed at the High Court of Namibia, in 2017 Vaughan Transport and Distell entered into a distribution agreement.

“On February 15 2017, the plaintiff (Vaughan Transport)represented by Johannes Bikeur, and the defendant (Distell) represented by Vilian Govender entered into a written owner driver – distribution agreement in Windhoek, terms of which the plaintiff would render cartage services  for the defendant to and from the defendant’s customers as contractor,”  read the documents .

On the same day Nependa Transport, represented by Joas Uahindua entered into the same agreement with Distell, while on February 15 2015 Nentele Transport, represented by Nentele Fillipus, got into the same agreement.

According to thedocuments the transport companies were to render the collection, transport and delivery of products, containers and related materials to and from Distell and Distell’s customers.
