WITH her star rising, the sky is the limit for Sonia Shalukeni aka DJ Yessonia who has been nominated in three continental awards.
A newcomer on the entertainment scene, DJ Yessonia has made a name for herself and has been nominated for the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) to be held from 3 to 6 November 2022.
The Swakopmund born Dj is nominated in categories of Best Female Artiste in South Africa, Best Female African Dj and Best Artist Duo or Group in African Electro for her collaboration with Boohle.

Chivuno described Yessonia as a great musical ambassador and was proud of the hard work she had put in.
“People have no idea how much work, effort, time and energy goes into it. She is very patient, hard-working and the results are showing. Credit must be given where it is due. It is hard to tell that she just been a Dj for only 9 month because of the amount of work she has put in and positive feedback we have received. She is a great musical ambassador who is working hard to put the country on the musical map,” Chivuno said.
Dj Yessonia is an entrepreneur, a producer, and a well-known female DJ in Namibia. She is a trail blazer in the music and entertainment business, as she is currently on two of the most popular shows on the National broadcaster, which are Good Morning Namibia and Whatagwan.
