Donlu Music Festival coming soon

THE Donlu Music Festival aimed at promoting local content will be taking place on 25 August with a line up consisting of local entertainers only. This was revealed by the founder of the music website ‘Donlu’ Llewellyn Adams, who is also the initiator of the festival, with a passion for uplifting local musicians.

The festival will take place at the Trutsco United Grounds.

“This initiative is basically just to create a platform for people to get to know local music and where exactly to get them and to push sales for artists selling their music with us,’ he explained, adding that the festival gives an opportunity to both upcoming ad established artists and therefore he urged all musicians to be part of ‘a night of Namibian music’.

“The tickets are also affordable, we are trying our best to make sure that everyone can attend and therefore our ticket prices starts from N, N to N0 only,” he said.

Some of the artists who will be gracing the stage at the event are KK, Matongo Family and many others who will only be revealed at a later stage as they are still finalising the line-up.

“We can’t really say who is performing because a lot of musicians have been contacting me on a daily basis. Ever since we announced the date of the event, the support has really been amazing, it shows how Namibians are getting there with loving their own.

We are trying to get veteran artists also, such as Stella and all the people that we are craving to hear their music again,” he said.

Created in 2017 with the aim of making local music accessible worldwide, Donlu Africa has done more than its aims and provided a platform for local musicians to grow.

Last year, the website celebrated two milestones, including over one million streams on the website and turning two years old in the industry.
