EIF, NASRIA sign Climate Insurance and Development memorandum

NASRIA acting managing director John Uusiku says the newly signed Memorandum of Cooperation between Nasria and the EIF will allow the two entities to increase their coverage of international-standard short-term insurance while supporting the development of Namibia’s short-term insurance business.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Uusiku said the memorandum lays the groundwork for long-term collaboration that will last till its termination and promote sustainable development.

“The signing of the memorandum will allow the two entities to increase their coverage of international-standard short-term insurance while supporting the development of Namibia’s short-term insurance business.

As state-owned entities, both organisations commit to cooperative efforts focused on securing funding for NASRIA’s climate change-related insurance products, including sharing information, expertise, and jointly benchmarking policies related to public enterprise regulatory compliance and governance,” he said.
