Ex-NUST registrar to turn to ACC, Geingob

…as tussle with management over corruption continues

• By Confidente Reporter

THE former registrar of the Namibia University of Science and Technology, Maurice Garde exclusively told Confidente that he will drag the institution to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and also inform President Hage Geingob, if NUST fails to respond and finalise his matter which has been ongoing for 18 months.

“Should there be no response I shall have no option but to report to the Anti-Corruption Commission and to his Excellency the President a full report into the matters at NUST.  As is known, reporting to the President and government has been done in the past by the NUST legal advisor amongst others. So this appears quite normal.

“I genuinely feel for Namibians who are in the same position and are put through the political wringer.  When one tries to do the right thing for the country and root out possible corruption, one feels like they are steamrolled over.

Garde further told Confidente that he is going to do whatever it takes for his name to be cleared.
