Far North volleyball growing but needs funds: Hamukwaya

CHAIRPERSON of the Far North Volleyball Association (FNVA), Festus Hamukwaya, says he is happy with the growth of volleyball in the far north of the country, despite raising concerns regarding the lack of funding.

FNVA comprises male and female divisions from places such as Omuthiya, Ondangwa, Oshakati, Eenhana, and Ongwediva, with the men’s division consisting of Namibia Correctional Service (NCS), Nakapale, Medipark, Omuntele, Oshana NamPol, Green Side, Ondjumba, and Ekuku, while the women league has UNAM HP, Nakapale Six Stars, and Green Side.

The FNVA league started on 21 May and is expected to end in August.

“FNVA is a non-profit organisation that depends on teams’ registration. The league is expected to end no later than 12 August. So far, we are still sourcing for sponsorship and are unsure how much the winners will get. We did send out a few sponsorship letters; however, up to now, we have had no positive response yet,” said Hamukwaya.
