Fashion soiree to glam things up

THE classy and elegant party hosted after the MTC Windhoek Fashion Week runway show on an annual basis will this year be introducing another spicy theme  titled ‘Diamonds X Dragons: Fire & Ice’.

Hosted by fashion icons Rumano Fabrish and Reinhard Mahalie, the soiree brings different people together to network, spark ideal conversations and exchange ideas that could grow the fashion and entertainment industry.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Mahalie said, besides the new theme introduced for this year’s experience, there will be having a fire line up consisting of award-winning musicians Top Cheri, Taylor Jaye, One Blood, Nally and Raymond.

“We definitely want to give everyone a VIP experience. Tickets will be sold at the door for only N$200.00. We are planning on having an upscale and classy Shisha lounge for all hookah lovers,” he added.

Mahalie further expressed his gratitude for the support received so far, promising an exciting night of good music and interactions.

“We had two successful after parties in the past and this year it will be larger than life. The people will dress up according to the theme given and we can’t wait to see everyone slaying in their outfits,” he said.

Although the parties hosted in the last two years have been successful, Mahalie stressed that getting monetary sponsors remains their biggest challenge.

He said, “We are looking for long term investors as we do not want the event or concept to die out. We want to grow and enhance the event, take it to other cultural and art events and eventually across borders. Any investor reading this, please invest or attend the event to witness the potential of the Fashion Soiree.”

He added that, the aim is to host a successful party and have marquees at festivals and award shows while making sure that people are looking forward to attending the fashion event.

Ensuring all the safety measures on the night of the after party, Mahalie said they have hired bodyguards that will be on duty throughout the night. “It is to make sure that everyone feels safe and secure, the event will be at Nyama Restaurant at the Windhoek Showgrounds. We will also make sure that we implement the Covid-19 regulations and social distancing practices in place.”

The Fashion Soiree will be taking place on December 4, starting at 19h00.

Although the performing musicians for the night have been revealed, Mahalie said the deejay line-up is yet to be announced on their social media platforms.
