THERE seems to be no turning back for Namibia’s Amapiano hit-maker, Sonia Shalukeni, popularly known as Dj Yessonia who in her fist nine months as a DJ has seen her star rise beyond expectation.

Dj Yessonia is currently riding high with her latest Amapiano anthem titled Siy’bonana Nini.

She has been nominated as one of the main headliners for the first ever ‘Amapiano Luxury Cruise’ and her musical career is tipped for greatness.

The Dj was recently invited to feature on Oskido’s show on Metro FM.

The Swakopmund born DJ’s music can be described as sophisticated and ‘Namibianised’ Amapiano tune themed around the topics of love, celebrating life and having a good time.

“Siy’bonana Nini is another love song from a range of songs that include sultry, yet heart-stomping tune, featuring Amapiano songstress Boohle from South Africa.

“Her other smash-hit Thanda Wena is sitting on over 12.4 million organic impressions on South Africa terrestrial radio stations with over a 110 plays across over 18 radio stations in South Africa alone,” Shimbayu Chivuno, Manager and Owner of TNA Music and Entertainment said.

Chivuno who also doubles as Dj Yessonia’s manager said Dj Yessonia’s ever growing music catalogue also consists of collaborations with Amapiano powerhouses and pioneers.

“She has collaborated with MFR Souls (the duo dubbed to be the founders of Amapiano music in South Africa, as well as charismatic Dj Style on an Amapiano tribute to the popular song, Touch The Sky,” he said.

According to Chivuno, Dj Yessonia’s Summertime song is currently sitting on position 67 out of 500 songs on South African radio.

“I am very proud of the work we together with Dj Yessonia have put in. People have no idea how much work, effort, time and energy goes into it. She is very patient, hard-working and the results are showing. Credit must be given where it is due. It is hard to tell that she has just been a Dj for 9 months because of the amount of work she has put in and positive feedback we have received. She is a great musical ambassador who is working hard to put the country on the musical map,” Chivuno said.

Dj Yessonia is an entrepreneur, a producer, and a well-known female DJ in Namibia. She is a trail blazer in the music and entertainment business, she is currently on two of the most popular shows on the National broadcaster, which are Good Morning Namibia and Whatagwan.
