Finance launches academic procurement

THE Ministry of Finance last week launched academic procurement management programmes, which will offer government institutions the capacity development and training in public procurement.

According to finance minister Iipumbu Shiimi, explained that the programmes are to be offered by Namibia’s biggest institutions, University of Namibia (UNAM), Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) as well as the Namibian Institute of Public Administration (NIP).

The programme will comprise of short courses ranging from five days to six months and will also include a one-year Namibia Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 4 certificate, an advanced diploma in procurement supply, a three-year bachelor of procurement management, and a postgraduate diploma in procurement management.
