First-ever international phygital tournament in Russia …Namibia was part of the game

The first international tournament of a new format, the Games of the Future, was held in Russia (Kazan City) from February 21 to March 3, 2024.

Innovative competitions combined classical sports, e-sports, and virtual reality technologies. An extensive program of additional events was also prepared for guests and spectators.

In general, the Games of the Future featured 21 cutting-edge disciplines, such as phygital football, phygital basketball, phygital hockey, phygital MOBA, Dota 2 + Super Final, CS2 + laser tag, battle of robots, sports programming, drone racing and more.

Over 2,000 athletes and 200 teams worldwide, including Namibia, participated in this unique, large-scale sports event, where they competed for U$25 million in prize money. The 12-day tournament ended with a spectacular closing ceremony, bringing artists
