Forced fishing marriage clashes over N$10m quota

TOMP-Global Fishing (Pty) Ltd, a joint venture (JV) company that was recently awarded 3000mt horse mackerel quota worth over N$10 million has deadlocked with some of the companies within the JV opting to sell their quota at the expense of approximately 200 jobs in Usakos, Confidente has learnt.

TOMP-Global Fishing includes Mbunza Fishing (Pty) Ltd, Oranje Cultural Fishing (Pty) Ltd, Tov Investments (Pty) Ltd, Pental Fishing (Pty) Ltd and Global Fishing Enterprises (Pty) Ltd.

Fisheries minister, Albert Kawana confirmed that this clash as well as another one of a fishing JV based in Karibib had been brought to his attention and that he was adamant to address this industry ill.
