Gazza’s Milli Concert coming soon

MULTI-AWARD winning local music virtuoso and founder of Gazza Music Productions (GMP) Lazarus Shimi, aka Gazza, launched his much anticipated #gazzamilliconcert last week as a way of thanking his fans for the decade-long support they have given him.

The concert, billed for 3 August, will be held at the Sam Nujoma Stadium with tickets to the show going for a mere N$30. The concert is also due to be Gazza’s celebration on accumulating a million views for his song ‘Chelete’ on YouTube.

During the launch at an upmarket hotel in Windhoek, the artist said he simply wants to show his appreciation for his fans, who are in for a treat as he mentioned that the #GazzaMilliConcert will also see other mainstay musicians in the industry performing.

”The #gazzamilliconcert will be the biggest concert in Namibia, trust me,” he told Confidente.

The GMP founder said his fans should not be worried about their safety, because his team has put measures in place to make sure everyone can enjoy themselves unhindered at the concert.

“In terms of safety, we will register taxis who will have #gazzamilli concert stickers who will be transporting people into the stadium.

The team has also marked out the red zones and areas well known for robberies and we will make sure there are police officers to keep those places safe,” he said.

Further, it was also announced that the concert would be aired live by the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation but Gazza pleaded with Namibians to attend the show and come out in numbers.

He does not have a specific target for the number of people he hopes to attract. “I don’t want to put a number to the show because the show is for the people.

It is convenient for everyone. We’re charging N$30 for crowd control,” he said.

He also revealed that the stage, which was initially supposed to cost N$200,000, would be about N$500,000 due to a sponsorship from DB Audio Namibia. Windhoek Lager, who are the official sponsors, said they were delighted to sponsor the show and applauded Gazza for being a positive brand partner.
