MINISTER of Industrialisation and Trade, Lucia Iipumbu has this week told Confidente that government is closely monitoring Chinese regulations that are only allowing those inoculated by their vaccine, Sinopharm to enter mainland China.
China is one of Namibia’s top trade partners ranked in the top five.

Speaking to Confidente, Iipumbu highlighted that government will look into engaging Chinese authorities if it receives complaints about businesses and individuals failing to conduct business.
“This is a challenging regulation but the good part is that the old arrangements in trade are not affected as they do not involve travelling.
However, this is a limiting regulation that we will monitor closely and take it up with them if it begins to seriously affect us. Currently we have not received any complaints,” Iipumbu said.
