Govt pays off N$300 million to projects

THE Ministry of Works and Transport has paid out over N$300 million for their outstanding projects as well as contractor earnings of workers at Otesa/CMC joint Venture who had downed tools on the Okahandja-Windhoek dual road project due to unpaid salaries, Confidente has established.
The workers had paid works minister John Mutorwa a visit last week protesting against unpaid wages, after which a promise was made that N0 million would be made available to cater for unpaid government projects.
Speaking to Confidente this week the ministry’s spokesperson, Julius Ngwedha stated that the project is not only meant for the disgruntled workers but for other government projects as well that were yet to be completed.
