Govt policies must align to poverty ratings

FOLLOWING the upper middle-income poverty rate projected to stay around 64 percent until 2022 by the World Bank, political analysts have said that there is an urgent need to align the country’s policies to improve the economy.
According to the World Bank, due to the negative impact of Covid-19 on livelihoods, poverty rates are projected to increase in the near future.

In view of the poverty figure for Namibia, political analyst Ndumba Kamwanya has urged policymakers to relook and evaluate the current poverty measures set in place.
