Govt spends N$512m on road crashes

GOVERNMENT has spent N$824 million in dealing with anomalies associated to road carnage, chairman of the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) Eliphas! Owos-Oab has said.
According to Owos-Oab the financial cost of accidents is estimated at N$ 512.
96 million per annum, while the indirect and induced cost is estimated at more than N$ 824.
64 million per annum.
Owos-Oab stated this at the launch of the Second Namibian Chapter of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030, which aims at ending deaths and injuries, meaning no one should be killed or seriously injured in road traffic crashes.
